If you’re looking to get into streaming, you’ll want to check out this guide on how to set up Streamer Mode on Discord. The author walks through the process of how to create a role for streamers, add bots, and configure settings. This is a great guide for anyone starting out with streaming on Discord.

What is streamer mode on discord

Streamer mode on Discord is a way of setting up your server to make it easier for broadcasters to stream. By creating a role for streamers and adding bots, you can configure your server to make streaming easier and more fun.

Creating a role for streamers

The first step in setting up Streamer Mode is to create a role for broadcasters. This will allow you to easily add and remove people from the role, as well as give them permissions that they need to stream. To do this, head to your server settings and click on “Roles.” From there, create a new role and call it “Streamer.” Give the role the following permissions:

-Read Messages: Yes

-Send Messages: No

-Connect: Yes

-Speak: Yes

-Mute Members: No

-Deafen Members: No

-Move Members: No

-Use Voice Activity: Yes

Adding bots to your server

There are a few different bots that you can add to your server to help with streaming. The two that we recommend are StreamCord and MEE6. Both of these bots will help you with things like announcing when someone goes live, giving viewers information about the stream, and more.

  • To add StreamCord, head to their website and click “Add to Discord.” This will take you to a page where you can select your server and grant the bot permissions. Once you’ve done that, go to your server settings and click on “Integrations.” From there, find StreamCord in the list and click “Enable.”
  • To add MEE6, head to their website and click “Add to Discord.” This will take you to a page where you can select your server and grant the bot permissions. Once you’ve done that, go to your server settings and click on “Integrations.” From there, find MEE6 in the list and click “Enable.”

Configuring Streamer Mode settings

Once you’ve added the bots, it’s time to configure your Streamer Mode settings. To do this, head to your server settings and click on “Streamer Mode.” from there, you can enable the mode and select which roles will be able to use it. We recommend selecting both the “Streamer” role that you created and the “Admin” role. This will give you the ability to turn Streamer Mode on and off as needed, as well as give admins the ability to help manage streams.

How to enable Discord Streamer Mode on your computer
